Polarization singularities in the self-focusing of an elliptically polarized laser beam in the isotropic phase of a cholesteric liquid crystal close to the temperature of mesophase transition

Self-action of an initially elliptically polarized Gaussian beam in the isotropic phase a cholesteric liquid crystal near temperature transition is studied. It shown that nonlocality optical properties leads to significantly different self-action behavior light beams with right-hand and left-hand elliptical polarization. Numerous lines circular polarization singularity ( C -lines) can appear cross sections during its self-focusing. These are circumferences various radii centers located on axis lying planes perpendicular direction propagation. The position contrast subject total power initial state, certain cases some single -lines split into multiple lines, vice versa.
